Building a team is vital to the success of your company. But before a team can be cohesive, your employees have to feel secure, empowered and positive. A simple and effective way to create a group mindset is to "deputize" everyone to be on the lookout for co-workers who are seeking excellence by taking initiative, delivering value to customers and goodwill for the company. When this behavior is identified, have them submit the "who, what, when and where" to you in writing; then, recognize them at the next staff meeting. Employees will begin to view each other and the team itself with a whole new set of eyes, and you should be prepared for a surge in team excellence and productivity.
