Voter Registration Deadline Extended

The deadline to register to vote in the general election has been extended one day, to 5 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, in light of the evacuations around the state due to Hurricane Matthew. Gainesville Housing Authority Announces Tavarous Parks as New Housing & Special Programs Coordinator

Tavarous Parks, who joined the Gainesville Housing Authority in February, 2016 as the Housing & Special Programs Coordinator, has been promoted to the Job Training & Entrepreneurial Program Director. In this new role Tavarous will assist residents on Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher program in obtaining valuable job skills and knowledge to become gainfully employed, self-sufficient, and financially secure. Prior, Tavarous spent 2 years with the Dept. of Children and Family and served as the Family Services Counselor working with families and childcare businesses around the City of Gainesville. Tavarous has an over-whelming passion for helping individuals reach their true potential.
