The VANAD Group joined the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Council for Economic Outreach last Friday in announcing that it has selected Gainesville to be the location for its U.S. company headquarters. The company’s decision to locate in Gainesville will result in 10 new jobs. The VANAD Group is a fast-growing, internationally active Dutch family business that owns four cloud solutions deployed in their focus regions: The Benelux Union, Germany, the United Kingdom, The Nordics, China and the U.S. The new positions will support a technology and development office for all U.S. clients as well as headquarters operations.
“This is a new chapter for our company, and it really makes us proud to be a human engagement company that has been welcomed this way,” said VANAD Group CEO Arthur Nederlof. “This is an important day for the 1,000 people who work for our company all over the world.”
Greater Gainesville is home to a thriving Information Technology (IT) sector that has demonstrated over the last several years its ability to attract large corporations, including Mindtree, Mobiquity, USR Systems and others. The region also is rich in home-grown tech companies with major global market presence, including AGTC, RTI Surgical, SumTotal, Infotech and Optym.
“Ad Nederlof, who founded the VANAD Group, said it best himself: ‘Life is too short to be in the wrong place,” said Gainesville Area Chamber Board Chair-Elect Rory Causseaux, who also serves as Chair of the Council for Economic Outreach. “We are so excited that the VANAD Group has decided that Gainesville is the right place to grow its business and add a new element of human engagement to the fabric of our community.”
Florida boasts over 26,000 IT firms employing over 245,000 people. More than 21,000 of these firms are communications or software companies. Gainesville is one of 23 counties that make up the state’s High Tech Corridor, within which a large number of the state’s tech companies operate.
“The VANAD Group’s presence in Greater Gainesville represents a significant opportunity for our region and advances the Chamber’s vision of Greater Gainesville as a global hub of talent, innovation and opportunity,” said Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Susan Davenport. “We look forward to working alongside the VANAD Group to support and celebrate in their future success.”
“The VANAD Group’s expansion is a testament to the strength of Greater Gainesville’s workforce and business climate,” said Don Davis, Chairman of the CareerSource North Central Florida Board of Directors. “CareerSource North Central Florida looks forward to being a partner to this company and supporting its growth by connecting it with the skilled, talented people it needs in order to grow.”
