Leadership Gainesville Class 42 Graduates

Leadership Gainesville Class 42 Graduates

On Friday, May 13, the Chamber held a graduation ceremony for the 48 members of Leadership Gainesville Class 42 at the Gainesville Women’s Club. In accordance with this year’s theme of “Self + Others,” the class developed and presented at the graduation three separate projects to address needs in the community: LG Jr., a leadership program for high school students facing economic disadvantages; At Home in Gainesville, a healthcare relocation assistance program that aims to create an additional talent stream for employers; and a mature women’s employment initiative that is slated to be named in the near future.

“The synergy demonstrated by this year’s class is inspiring and indicates their projects will have a life long past these class sessions,” said Chamber Vice President of Business Development and Operations Adrian Taylor.

Leadership Gainesville is a year-long community leadership program designed to showcase the amenities of the region and cultivate leadership skills among emerging leaders in Gainesville. Each year, individuals are selected to participate in the program following completion of a competitive application process. LG’s principal goal is to build a resource of community leadership on a planned, continuing basis. Each session examines key themes and issues affecting our community, as well as the organizations that implement solutions to address them.
