Enterprise Florida Launches 2016 Export GuideMay 29th, 2016 by gainesvillechamber
This past week Enterprise Florida launched it’s 2016 Florida Export Guide, a key resource for small to medium businesses who are new to export. The guide includes information on best practices, success stories, grants, and a directory of contacts. Also included in the guide is information on the Florida Small Business Development Council’s Export Marketing Plans (EMPs). These customized reports identify new markets, make trade recommendations, and provide your business with a plan for market entry. Endoscopy Replacement Parts Inc. located in Newberry, Florida went through the program and developed an EMP that had them specifically target expansion into Southeast Asia. Since then Endoscopy Replacement Parts has been named 2016 National Exporter of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration. To access the guide visit www.enterpriseflorida.com.
Resources available locally include the Export Gainesville Initiative. As part of the Initiative the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Enterprise Florida and the U.S. Commercial Service to offer international trade consulting services. The Chamber is staffed with international trade specialists on the first Wednesday of each month who can help expand your business’s presence internationally.
Lastly, the Chamber will be hosting the annual Export University 101 program on June 28 from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm. Delivered by the U.S. Commercial Service, Export University 101 is designed for new-to-export firms that would like expert advice on the export basics. The course is ideal for marketing and sales management staff, export operations personnel, purchasing, logistics, and anyone with a responsibility for export functions. Attendees will receive a certificate following completion of the course.
