CareerSource North Central Florida (NCFL) Board Chair Don Davis has announced that Anne Favre has been appointed executive director effective April 20, 2016. The decision was made at the board’s April 19 executive committee meeting.
As executive director, Favre (pronounced Fahv-ruh) will be the lead for interacting and collaborating with the CareerSource NCFL board of directors and local, state, and national policy leaders.
Favre brings a wealth of private sector and not-for-profit executive experience. In addition to serving as the Gainesville Program Coordinator for the Empowering Women in Technology Startups (eWits) program at the Florida Innovation Hub at the University of Florida, Favre has a background in business, experience launching startups, and a successful track record in not-for-profit advocacy. She holds an MBA from Boston University and a Masters in Biomaterials, Macromolecular Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Favre was selected after a competitive search process conducted by Focused Management Solutions, the administrative entity that provides executive leadership services to the area’s workforce board.
“Our leading relationship between our business community and our workforce board to provide the nation’s top talent at any professional level has turned heads across the nation. We believe Anne Favre brings the experience and enthusiasm to continue building on our legacy as one of the nation’s most effective local workforce development boards,” said Don Davis. “With her unique background in both advocacy and the private sector, Anne Favre is the best choice to deliver our unique business-driven message.”
“I want to thank Don Davis and Angela Pate for granting me this opportunity to lead such an exceptional workforce board,” said Favre. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to work with an incredible board of directors and broad network of community and national partners to bring the residents of Alachua and Bradford counties one of the best workforce development experiences in the nation.”
“We want to thank CareerSource North Central Florida Chair Don Davis and the entire workforce board for its patience during this search process,” said Angela Pate, President & CEO of Focused Management Solutions. “Our region’s workforce board and our team at Focused Management Solutions have had a long and successful relationship to date and share a mutual desire to change the world from here in Alachua and Bradford counties. We’re very pleased the board of directors has accepted our recommendation of Anne Favre in this very important leadership role and look forward to a productive future together.”
Favre will leave her role as program coordinator for the eWits program. She takes over for Kim Tesch-Vaught who left the organization in January 2016 after nearly five years to pursue a career in real estate.
