On Friday February 5th, the Santa Fe College Center for Innovation and Economic Development, in conjunction with Plum Creek, the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Altavian and CareerSource North Central Florida, hosted a briefing to discuss future applications for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and upcoming training opportunities. Dr. Andrew Shepard from Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio presented on UAS technology and the National UAS Training and Certification Center located at Sinclair. The Training and Certification Center is home to the nation’s first permanent, custom-built UAS flying facility. This indoor flying pavilion offers cutting-edge capabilities specifically tailored for training and applied research support.
