What Do You Support?

Much has happened over the last four plus years. Join us on February 5, to learn more about the Envision Alachua Sector Plan, the process and the policy decisions to be made:

  • Does the County want to attract additional employers to address the underemployment in our area, and to support UF’s goal to raise its preeminence?
  • Does the County want to locate job centers in the eastern part of the county which has been left behind for decades and has the most need?
  • Does the County want to add an additional 23,000 acres of conservation lands at no cost to the taxpayers?

The Envision Alachua Sector Plan continues to work its way through the approval process. Recent milestones for approval include the City of Hawthorne approving the annexation of EA land and adopting EA-Hawthorne and the Alachua County Planning Commission’s review and recommendation to approve to the Board of County Commission.

The next important step in the process will be County Commission public hearings on February 16 and 18, 2016. Join us on February 5 to learn more.

Seating is limited, registration is required.
