The Gainesville Chamber’s Advanced Manufacturing Council recently appointed Executive Director Kim Tesch-Vaught to its Board of Directors to represent the Alachua and Bradford county region’s training and workforce services.
“The partnership between the Chamber and CareerSource North Central Florida helps us to facilitate meeting industry-specific workforce needs,” said the Chamber’s Director of Industry Development Staci Bertrand. “The range of business-driven services CareerSource North Central Florida offers will be key to assisting new and existing manufacturers in support of our plans to transform this region over the next several years.”
The partnership continues CareerSource NCFL’s business-driven approach by directly engaging with executive leaders in key industries to identify areas of high job and wage growth. According to a 2015 report from the Advanced Manufacturing Council, there are 195 are manufacturing establishments employing 4,090 individuals. 20 companies are anticipating 639 new jobs within the next three years.
