Tech Council Gets Updates on Dev Academy’s first Graduating Class and MoreNovember 6th, 2015 by gainesvillechamber
The Gainesville Tech Council met Oct. 28 to cover recent local and industry developments. Attendees received updates on several specific items, including the Gainesville Dev Academy, which will graduate its first class of students in the near future. The Dev Academy bridges the gap between technically trained coders and polished developers, and was created to meet the specific talent needs of local tech employers. Also recapped were the 50th Anniversary weekend of Gatorade, recent marketing delegation activities in Washington, DC, and the Chamber’s Greenville S.C. Intercity visit, among other items.
Tech Council members also interviewed more candidates vying for the recently advertised Director of Innovation Gainesville position. The new director will execute plans to reengage the original group of IG Advocates as part of Innovation Gainesville’s new realignment under the Chamber’s Economic Development Division.
