Export University 201 Successfully Covers Website Design for the Global MarketplaceOctober 9th, 2015 by gainesvillechamber
Search engine optimization, domain structure and internationalization were just a few of the topics covered during Export University 201 at the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce the morning of October 7, 2015.
Export University 201, a seminar organized by the Chamber of Commerce and led by Jorge Arce, Senior Trade Specialist with the U.S. Commercial Service, exists as a tool to help local companies and organizations break into international markets and expand their business on a global scale. International business comes with its own unique set of challenges and Export University provides participants with the skills needed to be successful in global sales.
In June 2015, the Chamber hosted Export University 101 to teach the basics of international expansion and exporting. Wednesday’s seminar went one step further and looked specifically at online presence and what it takes to make a company website appealing to potential international customers. From 8 to11 a.m., Jorge Arce and special guest speaker Greg Gutkowski, author of 9 Best Kept Secrets of B2B Digital Marketing, covered a variety of topics, including translating your website, international search engines and selecting the right keywords for maximum search engine exposure.
The 16 individuals in attendance represented more than 10 regional companies and organizations ranging from manufacturers looking to export a specific product to marketing professionals interested in learning how to design a website for better international exposure.
