Pauline Williams: 15 Years of Dedicated ServiceAugust 2nd, 2015 by gainesvillechamber
If you have called or visited the Chamber offices, you know her. If you sought the Chamber’s help before moving to the area, you know her. If you have attended a Chamber event, you know her: Ms. Pauline Williams.
The Chamber team recently surprised Ms. Pauline by celebrating her 15th anniversary as the “Face of the Chamber.”
“They definitely got one over on me,” said Pauline. “I wasn’t expecting to be recognized.”
Ms. Pauline came on staff in 2000—before the Chamber moved to the Commerce Building.
“I had just learned that Humana, my employer at the time, was closing the Gainesville office,” Pauline said. “A friend who worked upstairs recommended I apply at the Chamber, so I did.”
And the rest, as they say, is history. Today, Ms. Pauline has the longest tenure of any current Chamber employee, and loves the work she does.
“I get to talk to people from all over the United States who have questions about Gainesville and share things I know they will like once they are here,” said Pauline.
“I know I speak for our entire staff when I say Ms. Pauline is valued and appreciated at the Chamber,” said Interim President/CEO Susan Davenport. “Ms. Pauline has so much institutional knowledge, wisdom and perspective—it is a privilege to be greeted each day by her smiling face.”
