The leadership transition at the Gainesville Area Chamber is now officially underway and Susan Davenport—who is now serving as the Chamber’s Interim President and CEO—has immersed herself in the Chamber’s membership, public policy, workforce and operations activities.
“Susan is performing skillfully as the Chamber’s Interim President/CEO at this time,” said Chamber Board Chairman John V. Carlson, who serves as President/CEO at CPPI. “I have the utmost confidence that under her leadership, the Chamber staff will continue to focus on “business as usual” and maintain its culture of high performance.”
Davenport—who until now has served the Chamber as Vice President of Economic Development—is enthusiastic about the road ahead.
“I feel confident I can lead the Chamber’s staff through this transition because this talented and dynamic team collectively knows more about what this community has to offer than anyone out there,” said Davenport. “Since joining the Chamber staff in 2013, I have had the pleasure of participating in all areas of the chamber’s lines of businesses. We won’t skip a beat in our daily execution of the Chamber’s mission to increase economic prosperity, business growth and community progress.”
Since 2013, Davenport has spearheaded economic development activities resulting in the announcement of nearly 1,400 new jobs and nearly $400 million in new capital investment.
