Envision Alachua Land Tours Available May 22May 11th, 2015 by gainesvillechamber
The Gainesville Area Chamber is proud to support Plum Creek’s Envision Alachua initiative and align with our iG initiative for economic progress in the Gainesville region.
It’s almost time for more Envision Alachua guided coach tours of the proposed job centers site. The site, chosen by community members, would serve East Gainesville to Hawthorne and East Alachua County if county commissioners approve the Envision Alachua sector plan later this year. Two tours will take place on May 22 at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and last about three hours. Buses will depart from the Envision Alachua Design Studio located in the Commerce Building in downtown Gainesville.
Attendees will have the chance to talk to Plum Creek foresters, see the proposed conservation and job center areas, ask questions and share their ideas.
All those interested in attending the tour should RSVP as soon as possible.
If you can’t make it out on the 22nd, check out this virtual video tour to get a “bird’s eye view” of the lands with:
- Greg Galpin, Senior Manager, Planning, Plum Creek
- Mike Dennis, Environmental Consultant/President, Breedlove, Dennis & Associates (recognized State environmental expert)
In the video, Greg and Mike take you around Detailed Specific Area Plan (DSAP) Area A. The tour with Greg and Mike was filmed on November 10, 2014, following a period of heavy rain during one of Alachua County’s wettest summer and fall seasons in a decade.
